Introduction to Black Ash Basketry

  • Friday, June 8th, 5:30 to 7:30pm
  • Saturday, June 9th 9:30 to 4pm
  • Sunday, June 10th 9:30 to 3pm

Location:Biminizha’an gibawaajigan, WETCC building, Traditional Arts Classroom, 701 E. Jefferson Ave., Mahnomen, MN

Participants will learn about the history of Black Ash Basketry on the White Earth Reservation and will create a small basket. Clyde Estey Jr, Master Artist, will teach this introductory class with the assistance of Apprentice Artist Courtney Bunker. Free for community members and limited to 10 people (Age 15 +).

Spoon Carving in Pine Point, November 18th

Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Old Pine Point School, 48580 Pow Wow HWY Ponsford

Cost: FREE! lunch provided

Instructor, Steve Dahlberg, has been carving for over 30 years & is also an artisan of Scandinavian style knives.

Supplies are provided and space is limited, so REGISTER NOW!
